ABOUT ME

Ich heiße Sebastian, doch die Leute nennen mich Oskar. Das klingt vielleicht kompliziert, ist es aber nicht - und ich bin es auch nicht. Für mich geht es im Leben vor allem darum, jeden Tag in vollen Zügen zu genießen. Mit meiner Familie, mit gutem Essen, immer mit offenen Augen auf Achse sein - das ist es, was zählt.

Das Gleiche gilt für meine Einstellung zur Fotografie. Mein Vater hatte hier großen Einfluss. Er zeigte mir als Kind, wie man mit klassischer Ausrüstung fotografiert und die Aufnahmen anschließend auf Papier bringt. Gleichzeitig hat er mir beigebracht, nie Angst vor neuen Techniken, Werkzeugen und Hilfsmitteln zu haben. Einfach alles ausprobieren. Diese kindliche Neugier habe ich mir bis heute bewahrt - ebenso wie die Angewohnheit, jedes Detail in meiner Umgebung und die Menschen darin zu beobachten und zu würdigen. Mit der Revolution der Digitalfotografie hat sich auch mein Blick auf die Welt erweitert. Ich bin süchtig danach, alltägliche Momentaufnahmen festzuhalten. Wo immer ich bin, ist meine Kamera mit am Start.

Heute lebe ich in Berlin-Neukölln - in einer Stadt und einem Viertel mit multikulturellem Hintergrund, das für mein Leben und meine Kunst nicht lebendiger und inspirierender sein könnte.

My name is Sebastian, but people call me Oskar. That might sound complicated, but actually it's not - and neither am I. For me, life is all about great choices and enjoyment: my family, good food and cold beer, travelling. Just enjoying life to the fullest, every day. That's what counts, if you ask me.

Same accounts for my approach to photography. My dad had a big influence in this. He showed me as a child how to take photos with classic equipment and how to put the shots on paper. At the same time, he taught me never to be afraid of new techniques, tools and aids. I've kept this childlike curiosity to this day - as well as the habit of observing and appreciating every detail of my surroundings and the people in them.

With the revolution of digital photography, my view of the world also expanded. I'm hooked on taking pictures wherever I go. My camera is always with me. Today I live in Berlin-Neukölln - in a city and neighbourhood with a multicultural background that couldn't be more vibrant and inspiring for my life and art.
